For the past 30 years, Bev has exhibited her artworks in solo and group shows in Melbourne, rural Victoria and Tasmania. All told, she has sold at least 300 paintings; often to people who have never bought art before.
'My art is my dreaming on canvas. The works reflect a healing journey - going within to rise above the shackles of fear and self-doubt. The themes are often child-like, reflecting the importance of nurturing the child within with the tenderness and compassion that we tend to mistakenly seek from outside ourselves'.
Bev's latest works are beautiful free-flowing abstracts of natural elements

ABOUT GARLANDS AND SHRINES
This collection is a strong departure from the figurative paintings that Bev Aisbett is best known for.
Her inspiration for these works is the nature all around in this beautiful region of North Eastern Victoria.
The compositions involve ’flat-lay’ photography whereby objects are laid out flat (as the name suggests) and photographed from above, then digitally enhanced to create a ‘totemic’ effect.
The theme for ‘Garlands and Shrines’ is Nature in all her colours – her beauty and her ugliness.
The bird in ‘Hymn to a Broken Bird’ was kindly donated by Bev’s cat and being Easter, there are echoes of the Crucifixion in this piece.
‘Chooks Scraps’ tells of Bev’s relationship with a friend which began and has deepened through the exchange of eggs in return for food scraps.
All the objects in these pieces are found objects ;usually on daily dog walks – including the perfectly shaped ‘heart stone’ in ‘Love Nest’ and ‘Nuts About Rock’ , which has not been enhanced or altered but is as it was discovered.
